WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Two goals in the final 30 minutes helped lift the Lycoming College men's soccer team to a 3-1 MAC Commonwealth win over Hood, helping the team earn the No. 2 seed in next week's MAC Commonwealth Championship for the third straight year, on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 2, at UPMC Field.

Lycoming broke a tie at one in the 63
rd minute when a Warrior forward was undercut by the goalkeeper as he came in for a header in the box off service from senior
Nick Thornton (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny). Senior
Tanner Fonjweng (Bear, Del./Glasgow) drilled the ensuing penalty kick.

Lycoming sealed the win with 3:26 to play, as senior
George Charalabidis (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township) got a pass from senior
Lance Klingler (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area) at the top of the box, beat a defender and shot into the net.

The Warriors got on the board early, with Thornton finding the lower right corner for his second career goal on a pass from junior
Alex Henry (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle).

Hood (10-8-2 overall, 1-7 MAC Commonwealth) got an equalizer later in the half on a goal from Ricky Salgado.

The Warriors open the MAC Commonwealth Championship on Wednesday, Nov. 6, when they host No. 3 seed Arcadia University at 2 p.m. at UPMC Field. Tickets will be available at the gate for $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for students and children under six are free.
