Bella Green (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) fired a hard shot to her right to lift the Lycoming College women's soccer team to a 3-2 win over Alvernia University on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Alvernia Turf Field.

Sheila Whitman (Lake Ariel, Pa./Wallenpaupack) started the winning sequence, sending a high kick towards midfield, where Green corralled it, then sent a through ball to the right for Leighow, who was driving into the box when she was pulled down. The referee immediately signaled for the penalty kick and Green stepped up for the winner.

Gabby Perez (Vineland, N.J./Vineland) got the ball on a pass from Leighow, then bounced off a defender, rushed past and slid into a shot to send the ball into the right corner of the net.

Lycoming (8-8-1 overall, 1-5 MAC Commonwealth) started the game with one of the fastest goals in program history, as sophomore
Bailey Gilmore (Ivyland, Pa./Germantown Academy) sent a 20-yard pass through to Leighow, who beat the last defender and fired a shot into the net just 20 seconds into the game.

Alvernia (3-14 overall, 0-6 MAC Commonwealth) tied the game in the 15
th minute, though, and took the lead in the 54
th minute on a score from Lauren Gough, setting up Lycoming's late-game dramatics.

Jess Riordan (Vineland, N.J./Our Lade of Mercy) made four saves to earn the win, as Alvernia took 10 shots in the game. The Warriors fired 16 shots, as Alvernia keeper Lily Sankey made one save.

The Warriors get back on the field on Tuesday, Oct. 29, when they head to Lebanon Valley for a 3:30 p.m. MAC Commonwealth match.
