WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Second-half goals from freshmen
Bailey Gilmore (Ivyland, Pa./Germantown Academy) and
Megan Oyler (Bedford, Pa./Bedford) helped the Lycoming College women's soccer team make a valient comeback, but fell short, 3-2, to St. Joseph's (L.I.) in a non-conference match at the Shangraw Athletic Complex on Saturday, Sept. 8.
The Warriors (0-4 overall) controlled the ball for the majority of the game, outshooting the Golden Eagles, 18-6, and leading in corners 8-5.
Oyler scored her first career goal to get the Warriors on the board when she fired a deflected shot by freshman
Alicia Blizzard (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) into the goal in the 75
th minute, also giving Blizzard her first career point with the assist.
Gilmore cut the St. Joseph's lead to one, scoring her second goal of the season off a cross from sophomore
Elle Sarracco (Wantage, N.J./High Point Regional) in the

nd minute.
The Golden Eagles (1-1 overall) only took six shots, but were able to capitalize with first half goals by Christina Gagliardi, Carly Credidio, and Claire Brady.
Senior goalkeeper
Helen Ross (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley) shut out the Golden Eagles in the second half to keep her team in the game, finishing with a crucial save late during the Warrior comeback. Juliana Cintron-Leonardo made nine stops to earn the win for the Eagles.
The Warriors will be back on the field on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 9, when they host Bethany at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
