WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – With three players averaging at least two kills per set, the Lycoming College volleyball team used a balanced attack to sweep a quad-match at Lamade Gym on Saturday, Sept. 1, in the season-opener, posting 3-0 wins over Penn College (25-19, 25-20, 25-13), Wilkes (26-24, 25-10, 25-15) and Clarks Summit (25-15, 25-20, 25-16).

Kiannah Titus (Clay, N.Y./Baldwinsville) posted 16 kills in seven sets while sophomore
Elle Jednorski (Forest Hill, Md./Fallston) and junior
Alysa McDevitt (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) added 17 and 18 in eight sets, respectively. Jednorski and junior
Katie Hausknecht (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) each posted six blocks.

Against Penn College (0-3 overall), the Warriors held the Wildcats to a .000 hitting percentage in the win, scooping up 31 digs and forcing 19 attack errors in the three-set win. Titus, Jednorski and McDevitt each had five kills and Hausknecht had six in the match. Freshman
Abigail Harney (Center Moriches, N.Y./Center Moriches) had 22 assists, nine digs and two aces and senior
Emily Hepner (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) posted eight digs and five aces.

Against Wilkes (2-1 overall), the Warriors dramatically came back from a 21-16 deficit in the first set to post a 26-24 win thanks to three points off the serve of freshman
Angie King (Cooperstown, Pa./Maplewood) to take a 24-23 lead. A kill from Titus and an ace from McDevitt sealed the win in the set. In the final two sets, the Warriors won easily, as the team hit .187 (32-15-91) in the match and scooped up 43 digs off 91 Wilkes attacks.

McDevitt led the Warriors with seven kills and King and Titus each had six kills. Hepner added 14 digs, four assists and three aces and junior
Emily Morris (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sachem North) posted 22 assists, four kills and four digs. Freshman
Alia Post (Sayre, Pa./Sayre Area) added eight digs and two aces.

Rounding out the day, the Warriors let Clarks Summit (1-2 overall) come no closer than five points while hitting .313 (33-7-83) in the win while holding the Defenders to .090 (30-22-89).

Jednorski led the Warriors with seven kills, hitting .462, and McDevitt added six kills. Hepner posted 12 digs and four aces and Morris had 19 assists, four digs and two aces. Beth Muhlenkamp led the Defenders with 11 kills and 11 digs.

The Warriors get back on the court on Wednesday, Sept. 5, when they host Alvernia University in the MAC Commonwealth opener at 7 p.m. in Lamade Gym.
