SOUTH ABINGTON, Pa. – Four players picked up singles and doubles wins as the Lycoming College women's tennis team opened the spring season with an 8-1 non-conference win over Clarks Summit University on Tuesday afternoon, March 6, at the Birchwood Tennis Club.
The Warriors improved to 6-3 overall while the Defenders fell to 0-1.
Sophomore
Hannah Summerson (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) picked up a quick 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles after teaming up with sophomore
Devinity Apollon (Washington, D.C./School Without Walls) at No. 1 doubles for a hard-fought 9-7 win.
Senior
Kaitlin Hallabuk (Towanda, Pa./Towanda Area) won 8-3 at No. 3 singles and teamed up with junior
Brittany Lenze (St. Mary's, Pa./Elk County Catholic) for an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles. Lenze also picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win over Lexi Carver at No. 5 singles.
Junior
Kimberleigh Parroccini (Warren, Pa./Warren Area) also earned two wins with an 8-0 win at No. 4 singles and she teamed up with junior
Allyson Dugan (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) for a quick 8-0 decision at No. 3 doubles. Senior
Ashley Stover (Bel Air, Md./Patteron Mill) earned a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles.
The Warriors return to the courts on Wednesday, March 28, when they host Lancaster Bible at 3 p.m.
