WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman
Taylor Gessner (Lewisburg, Pa./Meadowbrook Christian) headed in the game-winning goal late in the second overtime to lift the Lycoming College women's soccer team to a 4-3 win over Hood College on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 28, in MAC Commonwealth action on senior day at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.

The Warriors (5-12-1 overall, 1-7 MAC Commonwealth) wrapped up the 2017 season on a two-game win streak.

It was Gessner's first career goal, as she scored on a corner kick from sophomore
Madi McConnell (Turbotville, Pa./Warrior Run). McConnell's kick crossed into the 6-yard box where Gessner rose up and headed in the game-winner with just 90 seconds remaining in the second overtime.

Lycoming fell behind early on Melissa Merritt's goal but in the seventh minute, senior
Jordan Lazarich (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) netted her 15
th goal of the season when she received a pass from freshman
Elle Sarracco (Wantage, N.J./High Point Regional), as Lazarich drew out the goalie and fired into an empty net. Lazarich finishes her remarkable career with program records of 137 points and 62 goals, which is tied with Jeff Kocher of the men's soccer program for the most goals ever by a Lycoming soccer player.

Sarracco scored the next two Warrior goals, as she scored her first on a corner kick from McConnell and her second came when she carried the ball about 50 yards, getting around three defenders, and netted the shot from about eight yards out to put Lycoming up 3-1 in the 46
th minute. It was Sarracco's first multi-goal game of her career as she netted a career-high five points.

Hood's Jasmine Mangle and Michaela Provinzano scored the game's next two goals to tie the game at three, setting up Gessner's heroics.

Lycoming outshot Hood, 39-13, including 9-0 in the second overtime. The Warriors also held a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Lycoming senior goalkeeper
Joelle Winey (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) made seven saves, including a couple diving, finger-tip saves in her final game. Winey finishes her career with 296 saves, third best in program history and the third most wins in program history.

Hood's ReidAnn Sever made four saves in the first half while Olivia Feinberg made 12 after halftime.
