Jordan Lazarich (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) notched her eighth goal of the season, but the Lycoming College women's soccer team dropped a 5-1 MAC Commonwealth match at Stevenson University on Saturday evening, Oct. 21.
Lazarich scored her 55
th career goal, the most in program history, in the 89
th minute when she took on two Stevenson defenders and chipped the shot from about 18 yards out in over the outstretched arm of the keeper to make it 5-1.
Stevenson (11-5 overall, 4-2 MAC Commonwealth) scored two goals in the first 10 minutes when Brianna Christie scored in the fourth minute and Haley Christie added another goal. Stevenson added a third goal before halftime when Julia Webb scored in the 39
th minute. Kellen Wittman and Sam Hooker scored in the second half.
Junior goalkeeper
Helen Ross (Hellertown, Pa./Saucon Valley) made six saves while Stevenson's Tiffany McKee made four saves in 80 minutes of play and Keegan Caffrey made a save in the final 10 minutes.
The Warriors return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 3 p.m. when they host Penn State Schuylkill in a non-conference match at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
