Molly Ball (Sayre, Pa./Sayre) led the Lycoming College volleyball team with 11 kills and sophomore
Lindsay Beck (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown Community) tied her career high with 14 digs, but a late fifth-set rally fell short, as Penn State Altoona edged out Lycoming, 3-2 (25-15, 17-25, 25-18, 22-25, 15-13), at the Adler Center on Thursday, Oct. 19.

Junior
Emily Hepner (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) finished with a match-high 26 digs as Lycoming (13-17 overall) posted 85 digs in the five-set match. Freshman
Kiannah Titus (Clay, N.Y./Baldwinsville) added six kills, two aces and 11 digs.

Sophomore
Emily Morris (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Sachem North) finished with 19 assists, seven digs, for kills and two blocks and senior
Catherine Burger (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) added 17 assists, three aces and five digs. Freshman
Elle Jednorski (Forest Hill, Md./Fallston) posted nine kills, three aces, seven digs and four blocks.

Down 12-7 in the fifth set, the Warriors rushed back thanks to two aces from Burger to get within 13-11, but the Lions (10-11 overall) were able to side out twice to win the match.

The Lions jumped out to a 19-11 lead in the first set before handing on for a 25-15 win before the Warriors took a 14-7 lead in the second set and never letting the Lions within five in a 25-17 win.

After the Lions took the third set, the Warriors came back in the fourth set to tie it. Down 22-21, a kill by Ball followed by a huge block from Jednorski and Morris helped Lycoming take control in the 25-22 win.

Lauren Diller finished with 16 kills and 21 digs and Lauren Moran had 23 assists and 10 digs for Penn State Altoona. Kaitlin Cassaday notched 16 digs and Emily Bryan had 11 assists and 10 digs. Josie Stovall finished with 12 kills and Velanna Skripek had 11.

The Warriors get back on the court on Tuesday, Oct. 24, when they head to Lebanon Valley for a 7 p.m. MAC Commonwealth match.
