WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – After earning MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season, Lycoming College junior goalkeeper
Chris Solecki (Hainesport, N.J./Lenape) has been named the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Player of the Week, the organization announced on Tuesday, Oct. 10.
Solecki is the second Warrior to earn this award in as many weeks as junior defender
Sainclair Tueno (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair) won it for the first time in program history on Oct. 3.
Solecki made five saves in a 2-0 win over regionally-ranked Lebanon Valley, including a sprawling penalty kick save late in the first half when the Warriors held a 1-0 lead. He then made a save on six shots in a 2-0 win over Arcadia for his sixth shutout of the season.
Solecki leads the MAC Commonwealth with a 0.49 goals-against average and a .875 save percentage. He is 12
th in the country in save percentage and 17
th in goals-against average, while his six shutouts are tied for the MAC Commonwealth lead and 16
th in the country.
Lycoming (12-1 overall, 3-0 MAC Commonwealth) returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 11, when they host Albright in a MAC Commonwealth game at 4 p.m. at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
