GRANTHAM, Pa. – Senior
Meghenn Jackson (Arnold, Md./Broadneck/Anne Arundel C.C.) led the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team with a goal and an assist, as it suffered its first defeat of the season at 19
th-ranked Messiah, 17-2, in MAC Commonwealth action on Wednesday, April 6, at the Starry Athletic Complex.
Entering the day as one of four undefeated teams left in Division III, the Warriors are now 9-1 overall and 1-1 in the MAC Commonwealth.
The Falcons (6-4 overall, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth) started the scoring 53 seconds into the game and scored the first 11 goals of the game over the first 21:26 of the first half.
Jackson got the Warriors on the board with an unassisted score with 4:56 left in the first half. Jackson then assisted sophomore
Jordan Lazarich (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park), just 29 seconds into the second half, but the Falcons held the Warriors scoreless the rest of the game and scored the final six goals to yield the final margin.

Nicole Gerling (Millstone Township, N.J./Allentown) led the Warriors with five ground balls and three caused turnovers. Freshman
Kelly McGinniss (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) won a game-high six draw controls.
The Falcons were led by Jenna Stover and Allie Colson, who both recorded hat tricks. Ida Ehrhardt, Liz Brennan and Annika Johnsen each scored twice, while Stover also contributed a game-high three assists and a team-high three ground balls. Emma Hawthorne led the defense with four caused turnovers while Grace Munford caused two.
Gerling (9-1) made six saves and played all 60 minutes. Alexa Dipeso (6-3) got the win for the Falcons, as she made two saves in 42:51 of action. Ellery Klineyoung played the final 17:09 for the Falcons and made one stop.
The Warriors will return to the field on Saturday, Apr. 9, when they host Widener in MAC Commonwealth action at 1 p.m. at Shangraw Athletic Complex.?
