WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Needing a win and some help to reach the MAC Commonwealth Tournament for the fourth year in a row, the Lycoming College men's soccer team did its part with a 4-2 win over Stevenson University, but fell short of the postseason, ending the careers of the winningest senior class in program history on Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.

The Warriors finish 2016 with a 9-6-4 overall record and 3-3-2 in the MAC Commonwealth, giving the senior class of
Mike Amaya(Stockton, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional),
Jason Coles (Logan Township, N.J./Kingsway Regional),
Josh Gildea (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh),
Dom Haynes (Scotrun, Pa./Pocono Mountain East),
Alfonce Mutuku (Beltsville, Md./DeMatha Catholic) and
Stallon Ndawula (Rockville, Md./Montgomery Blair) a record of 53-19-13 (.700) in their careers.

In order to make the tournament, the Warriors needed a win and a Hood loss, but Hood posted a 6-1 win over Widener to finish with 13 points and Arcadia earned the fifth and final spot in the conference tournament thanks to a tiebreaker with the Warriors due to a win over the tournament's No. 3 seed Alvernia.

The Warriors got three quarters of its firepower in the game from the seniors, with Amaya kicking off the scoring in the fourth minute thanks to a long throw in from Haynes that Amaya headed into the right corner.

In the 30
th minute, freshman
Zach Raut (Baltimore, Md./Sparrows Point) got his first career goal, heading in a corner kick by junior
Nathan Harding (Secretary, Md./North Dorcester) before Stevenson closed within a goal late in the half off a free kick.

In the second half, Coles got a cross from sophomore
Sainclair Tueno (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair) in front of the net and buried it and Ndawula stepped to the penalty kick line in the 56
th minute to convert his first career goal and make it 4-1. Stevenson (3-13-3 overall, 2-6 MAC Commonwealth) added one more goal in the 81
st minute.

The Warriors outshot the Mustangs, 16-9, in the game and emptied the bench, with 32 players finding the field in the game. Haynes finished with two assists and Stevenson's Sam Bly also assisted on both goals.

In net, Gildea earned the win, making two saves in 86 minutes before sophomore
Chris Solecki (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) stopped one in the final four. Stevenson's Michael Tringali stopped four shots.
