READING, Pa. – In the final game of her career, senior
Erin Cieniewicz (Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) saved the best for last, scoring a career-high five times to lead the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team, but a seven-goal first half was enough to propel Alvernia University to an 11-8 Commonwealth Conference win at the Schlager Memorial Field.

Cieniewicz led the Warriors (10-6 overall, 2-6 Commonwealth) with the five scores, as she scored three times in the first half. Junior
Meghenn Jackson (Arnold, Md./Broadneck/Anne Arundel C.C.) added two goals and three draw controls, as she finished the year with 66 goals (fifth in school history) and 80 points (third).

Junior
Savannah Fox (Port Deposit, Md./Perryville) added a goal and an assist, leaving her three points shy of reaching 100 in her career entering her senior year.

The Crusaders (7-8 overall, 3-5 Commonwealth) scored the first three goals of the game, but the Warriors rallied back with four of the next five goals to tied the game on the third of Cieniewicz's first-half scored with 11:27 left. The Crusaders took the lead back on a score from Abby McCarthy and scored twice in the final minute, though, to take a 7-4 lead into the break.

In the second half, the Warriors couldn't get any closer, as they drew within three goals three times, the last on a score from Jackson with three seconds remaining.

Senior
Liz Francescone (Cream Ridge, N.J./Notre Dame) caused a career-high four turnovers in the game and Cieniewicz led the team with three ground balls. Senior
Casey Maguire (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Egg Harbor Township) added an assist, as she finished her career third with 66 career assists and seventh with 181 points.

Abby McCarthy led the Crusaders with four goals and an assist and Jacquelyn Strange also added three scores. Bailey Stover caused five turnovers and picked up four ground balls to lead the defense.

In net, sophomore
Nicole Gerling (Millstone Township, N.J./Allentown) (10-6) stopped 10 shots for the Warriors and Colleen Reilly (7-8) stopped 10 shots to earn the win for the Crusaders.

The Warriors finished 10-6 under third-year head coach
Lindsay Reese, just the fifth 10-win campaign in school history and the first since 2010.
