WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College softball team fell in both ends of a Commonwealth Conference doubleheader to Stevenson University, falling 3-0 in nine innings in the first game and 4-3 in 10 innings in the second game, on Saturday afternoon, April 25, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.

A 10
th-inning run that scored off an error helped Stevenson (17-16 overall, 11-5 Commonwealth) earn a 4-3 win and secure the sweep in the conference doubleheader.

With a runner placed on second base due to the international tiebreaker, a one-out infield single and an overthrow helped Kaitlyn Seger score. The Warriors (14-18 overall, 4-12 Commonwealth) nearly tied the game in the bottom of the inning, with sophomore
Morgan Kunes (Beech Creek, Pa./Central Mountain) reaching third on a passed ball. However, with one out, she was thrown out at home on a fielder's choice.

The Warriors fell behind in the first inning when Stevenson scored a run, but in the fifth inning, the Warriors took a 2-1 lead. Sophomore
Kelcie Crabb (Millmont, Pa./Mifflinburg) started the rally with a one-out single and sophomore
Emma Fredericks (Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown) came in to pinch-run. Freshman
Rachael Shady (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) reached on an error and Fredericks moved to third. After Shady stole second, a passed ball helped Fredericks score and then the throw back to the plate got away from the pitcher, allowing Shady to come in.

The Mustangs responded with two runs in the sixth thanks to two runs, capped by a RBI double from Jenna Fiamingo.

Lycoming tied the game in the bottom of the sixth, as senior
Katie Pugh (Sykesville, Md./Century) singled to left field to lead off. She moved to second on a sac bunt and after a pop out, senior
Nikki Marianelli (Old Forge, Pa./Old Forge Area) delivered her 20
th RBI of the year with a single to right.

Fiamingo led the Mustangs, going 3-for-5 with a double and a RBI and both Stephanie Ayres and Sabrina Gordon each added two hits.

Senior
Caroline Lapano (Harrisburg, Pa./Trinity) pitched a complete game, allowing 11 hits and three earned runs. She walked two and struck out two. Stevenson's Briana Pichalski allowed three hits and an earned run in six innings before Molly Hoyt (2-4) threw four hitless innings of relief. She walked three and struck out two.

In the first game, Stevenson scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to post a 3-0 win over the Warriors.

Crabb led the Warriors with two hits in the first game. Â Segar and Tiffany Kahl each posted two hits to lead the Mustangs.

Junior
Kristi Weaver (Milton, Pa./Milton Area) (5-8) threw eight scoreless innings before allowing the three runs, one earned in the ninth. She struck out six and walked none in the fine outing.

Jasmyn Ogletree (10-4) threw a five-hit shutout for the Mustangs, as she walked two and struck out seven.

In the ninth, Stevenson used two hits and three errors, with the big hit coming in the form of a two-RBI double from Segar.

The Warriors get back on the field on Sunday, April 26, when they head to Susquehanna University for the Cancer Awareness Cup. The doubleheader is set to begin at 1 p.m.
