WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore
Kyle Thomas (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) flicked in a header in the 63
rd minute to lead the Lycoming College men's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Johnson & Wales University in the first round of the 2015 NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.

The Warriors (17-1-2 overall) established a new school record for wins in a season, surpassing the 16-5 record set by the 1994 squad. Lycoming moves on to the NCAA Division III Tournament second round for the second time in three years, facing Dickinson (13-4-3 overall), a 2-1 overtime winner against Rowan in the other first round game at the Shangraw Athletic Complex. The second round game is set for Sunday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m.

Lycoming got on the board in the 63
rd minute, when MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Year Thomas got his head on a corner kick from sophomore
Mateo Velasquez (Scotrun, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) and flicked the ball into the net.

The Warriors were able to dominate most of the game, firing 18 shots while holding the Wildcats (17-5 overall) to just two shots, with their best chance coming in the first half when Doug Kase fired a shot just outside the 18 that went wide right.

Lycoming, meanwhile, had many near misses, with sophomore
Jordan Logan (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) firing a shot off the crossbar in the first half.

Junior
Josh Gildea (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) stopped one shot in the shutout, earning the team's school-record 13
th shutout of the year. Nick Tolman stopped eight shots in the loss for the Wildcats.
