Warriors fall to Devils

Box Score

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman Jordan Lazarich (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) notched her seventh goal of the season for the Lycoming College women's soccer team, but FDU-Florham used three second-half goals to pull away for a 5-1 win on Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.

After two first-half goals by the Devils (3-4-1 overall), Lazarich gave the Warriors (2-8 overall) a jolt of life in the 57th minute, when she took a cross from sophomore Leanne Shaw (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) at the top of the 18-yard box and delivered a shot into the lower left corner.

The Devils responded three minutes later, though, as Missy Quinn scored before two more goals in the last six minutes helped salt away the win.

Brittni Calleo led the Devils with two scores and Quinn added a goal and an assist. The Warriors took seven shots in the game, but Devils' keeper Annie George did not need to make a save in the contest.

Lycoming's freshman keeper Joelle Winey (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) made five stops, as FDU-Florham took 15 shots in the contest.

The Warriors get back on the field at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1, with the Battle for the Lumber at Penn College.
