Warriors fall to Monarchs

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Two first-half goals helped lift King's College to a 2-0 win over the Lycoming College women's soccer team in non-conference action on Wednesday night, Sept. 24, at McCarthy Stadium.
 
The Warriors (2-7 overall) fired six shots in the game, led by three from sophomore Leanne Shaw (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford). The team forced King's keeper Jessica Natale to make five shots.
 
The Monarchs broke through in the 17th minute on a goal by Christina Nassaney off a corner kick. Ivy Nulton added the second score in the 38th minute.
 
King's took 10 shots in the contest, forcing freshman Joelle Winey (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) to make three stops.
 
The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, Sept. 27, when they host FDU-Florham in a 1 p.m. non-conference game at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
