Zack Czap (Philipsburg, Pa./Philipsburg-Osceola) led the Lycoming College golf team by posting a career-best round of 82 to finish in the top half of the field at the Elizabethtown Spring Blue Jay Classic at the par-71, 6,299-yard Hershey Country Club East Course on Thursday, April 3.
The Warriors finished 19
th in the field of 20 schools with a team score of 359, finishing five strokes in front of Widener.
Czap finished tied for 51
st in the field of 105 golfers, as he posted eight pars and nine bogeys en route to the round of 82, breaking his mark for the best round of his career of 84 set as a junior.
Sophomore
Zach Layser (Myerstown, Pa./ELCO) posted his second round of less than 90, posting an 88, while junior
Nic McGee (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) carded a 93 in his first round of the season. Senior
Ryan Davis (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) notched a 96 and junior
John Koch (Schuylkill Haven, Pa./Blue Mountain) finished in 99 strokes.
Messiah won the tournament, posting a 289 to distance itself from Franklin & Marshall, which finished second in 296. Daniel Furmen of Franklin & Marshall was the individual medalist, carding a 2-under-par 69.
The Warriors get back in action on Monday, April 7, when it heads to Lebanon Country Club for the LVC Invitational.
