Warriors fall to Eagles

ELMIRA, N.Y. – A three-goal first half was enough to help Elmira College defeat the Lycoming College women's soccer team, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 31, at the Campus Field.
 
The Warriors (0-2 overall) took six shots in the game. Senior goalkeeper Caitlin Dougherty (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) made 10 saves in the game, becoming the seventh goalkeeper in school history to stop 125 in a career while playing 81 minutes. Sophomore keeper Megan Maurer (Hummelstown, Pa./Central Dauphin East) played the final nine minutes.
 
Mollie Hamilton led the Eagles (1-0 overall), as she scored three goals and added an assist. Kelsie DeKarski scored the first goal of the game in the 18th minute before Hamilton notched her three tallies.
 
Elmira keeper Danielle Fournier made five saves to preserve the shutout.
 
The Warriors get back on the field on Wednesday, Sept. 3, when they host Susquehanna in the River Derby at 4:30 p.m.
