WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Sophomore
William Dietz (Mansfield, Pa./Mansfield) fired a career-best round of 86 to finish second and lead the Lycoming College golf team in a dual with King’s College at the par-71, 6,178-yard Wyoming Valley Country Club on Monday, April 8, but King’s was able to post a 354-392 win.
Dietz posted a three-stroke improvement over his previous-best round, an 89 at the 2012 Commonwealth Conference Championships, as he finished two strokes behind the event’s leader, Ryan Hettes.
Sophomore
John Koch (Schuylkill Haven, Pa./Blue Mountain) added a 95 and senior
Caleb Shertzer (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) notched a 105 in his first career round. Senior
Nate Jones (Sayre, Pa./Athens) shot a career-best 106 to round out Lycoming’s scorers.
The Warriors wrap up the regular season on Friday, April 19, when they head to the Susquehanna University Spring Invitational at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club. Tee-off is set for 1 p.m.
