MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – Junior Dan Woods (Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) led the Lycoming College swimming teams on Saturday, Dec. 7, winning two individual events to lead the men's team in a 148-114 loss to Middle Atlantic Conference foe Messiah. The Lycoming women's team fell, 171-89.
 
Woods led the Warrior men, who fell to 1-4 overall, by posting wins in the 100-yard backstroke (58.13) and the 100-yard butterfly (56.23). He also finished second in the 200-yard individual medley with a  time of 2:06.25.
 
Senior Zack Brower (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) also added a win in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.68. In the 200-yard medley realy, Woods teamed with sophomore Trevor Endler (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick), sophomore Josh Thomas (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) and Brower to post a winning time of 1:41.26.
 
Messiah improved to 3-6 overall and 3-3 in the MAC.
 
On the women's side, junior Alexia Follweiler (Coaldale, Pa./Panther Valley) led the team by posting a win in the 200-yard butterfly with a  time of 2:21.38. She also finished second in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:04.15. The Warriors fell to 1-4 overall while Messiah improved to 5-4 overall and 5-1 in the MAC.
 
Sophomore Jilly Flynn (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) also had a solid outing, finishing second in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:14.79, just .12 behind event winner Gaby Brubaker.
 
The Warriors get back in the pool after the winter break on Saturday, Jan. 11, when they host Lebanon Valley for a 1 p.m. Senior Day dual meet.
