Warriors fall to Mustangs

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Lycoming College women's soccer team fell to Stevenson University, 9-0, in Commonwealth Conference action at Mustang Stadium on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 6.
 
Stevenson improved to 8-4 overall and 1-0 in the Commonwealth with the win and Lycoming fell to 1-9 overall and 0-1 in the Commonwealth.
 
The Warriors were led by two shots from freshman Alexa Bowman (Ambler, Pa./Abington Friends School), as the team finished with four shots in the game. Lycoming did force Stevenson into several pressure situations, posting five second-half corner kicks and finishing with six in the match.
 
Alexis Siejack led the Mustangs with three goals and an assist and Gabrielle Kuhar posted two scores.
 
In net, senior Caitlin Dougherty (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) notched one save in 65 minutes before sophomore Megan Maurer (Hummelstown, Pa./Central Dauphin East) finished the game, making one stop in the final 25 minutes.
 
Stevenson goalkeeper Annie McCoach and Alicia Greene each made one save.
 
The Warriors get back on the field on Wednesday, Oct. 9, when they head to Lebanon Valley for a 4 p.m. Commonwealth Conference action.
