Warriors fall to Knights

GLENSIDE, Pa. – Senior Caitlin Dougherty (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) made eight saves to lead the Lycoming College women's soccer team, but a three goal second-half helped regionally-ranked Arcadia clinch a 4-0 Commonwealth Conference win on Saturday night, Oct. 26.
 
The Warriors (1-15 overall, 0-7 Commonwealth) played well in the first half against the Knights (11-1-5 overall, 4-0-3 Commonwealth), ranked fourth in the Mid-Atlantic region. The team allowed 12 shots, but Dougherty made six saves in the period to keep the game close. Kim Canfield finally broke through for the Knights in the 32nd minute.
 
In the second half, Lennon Kramer scored three times to lead the Knights to the win, as they took 21 shots in the game while holding Lycoming to six, four from sophomore Kaitlyn Gulotta (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll).
 
Canfield added a goal and assist for the Knights and Jackie Law made four saves to earn the shutout.
 
The Warriors get back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 29, when they face Elizabethtown in a Commonwealth Conference game at 4 p.m. at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
