Warriors fall to No. 9 Falcons

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women's soccer team fell to ninth-ranked Messiah College, 9-0, in a Commonwealth Conference game on a brisk, Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 23, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
 
The Falcons (13-2-1 overall, 6-0 Commonwealth) were led by two goals from Trisha Tshudy and a goal and two assists from Missy Biener. Both Macauley Soto and Nikki Elsaesser had a goal and assist.
 
Senior Caitlin Dougherty (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) notched five saves in the first 53 minutes for the Warriors (1-14 overall, 0-6 Commonwealth). Sophomore Megan Maurer (Hummelstown, Pa./Central Dauphin East) stopped four shots and allowed two goals in the final 37 minutes.
 
Lycoming took two shots in the game, forcing Messiah keeper Audra Larson to make two saves.
 
The Warriors get back in action on Saturday, Oct. 26, when they head to Arcadia for a 7 p.m. Commonwealth Conference game.
