READING, Pa. – Despite taking seven shots and forcing the Alvernia University keeper to make three saves, the Lycoming College women's soccer team fell, 3-0, to Alvernia in Commonwealth Conference action on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 19, at Schlager Memorial Field.

Katelyn Gill led the Crusaders (8-6-1 overall, 1-4 Commonwealth) with two goals, scoring once in each half, and Bri McGrath had the game-winner in the 13
th minute.

The Warriors (1-13 overall, 0-5 Commonwealth) were led by two shots from sophomore
Megan Hubbard (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional).

Senior goalkeeper
Caitlin Dougherty (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) stopped seven shots for the Warriors, as Alvernia took 18 shots. Dougherty moved into ninth in the school's single-season record book with 109 saves, moving past the marks of 108 set by B.J. Mahonski (1999) and Jessica Bennett (2005).

Alvernia keeper Colleen Mahar stopped three shots to earn the shutout.
