James Quinn (Tonawanda, N.Y./Kenmore East) made eight saves to lead the Lycoming College men’s soccer team, but Susquehanna University scored three first-half goals en route to a 4-0 win in the 12
th annual Battle of the Boot on Wednesday night, Sept. 5 at Sassafras Fields.
The Crusaders (3-0 overall) scored three unassisted goals in the contest and posted three goals in the first 19 minutes. Susquehanna took 27 shots in the game and held Lycoming to just two.
Joe DeLuca, Daniel Sosa, David Trank and Ian Greene scored for the Crusaders and John Arnold added an assist.
Matt Salsman recorded the shutout, making one save. Quinn stopped eight shots in 80 minutes before sophomore
Connor Keenan (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) made one stop in the last 10 for the Warriors (1-1 overall).
The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, Sept. 8, when they head to Pitt-Bradford for a 5 p.m. non-conference game.
