WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior Matt Snively (Hollywood, Md./Leonardtown) headed in a goal in the 88^th minute for the Lycoming College men’s soccer team, but No. 19/9 York (Pa.) used two first-half goals to post a 2-1 non-conference win at the Shangraw Athletic Complex on Monday afternoon, Sept. 17.
 
The Warriors (2-2-1 overall) pressed an dominated tempo late in the game, leading to the late-scoring situation when Snively ranged high up over the goalbox and dropped a throw-in from senior Mike Krebs (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) into the upper left corner of the net to close within a goal.
 
York (5-1-1 overall) scored two first-half goals, the first on a deflected shot that went into the right corner by Greg Bechard and Taylor Brummert added another, getting the rebound of his own shot and getting it in the net.
 
However, senior James Quinn (Tonawanda, N.Y./Kenmore East) kept the Warriors in the game though, as he stopped a career-high 12 shots in 68 minutes before yielding to sophomore Connor Keenan (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East), who made one stop in the last 22 minutes.
 
Jesse Derksen earned the win for the Spartans, making three saves in 71 minutes before Leonardo Romero stopped one shot and allowed a goal in the last 19 minutes.
 
The Warriors get back on the field on Wednesday, Sept. 19, when they head to rival Juniata for a 4:30 p.m. game.
