Loiseau, Woods lead Warriors to sweep of Etown

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Sophomores Danielle Loiseau (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) and Daniel Woods (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) each posted three individual wins to lead the Lycoming College swimming team to a Middle Atlantic Conference sweep of Elizabethtown on Saturday, Nov. 10, with the women posting a 141.5-109.5 win and the men notching a 156-86 win at the Alumni Pool.
 
Loiseau led the women’s team, as she posted wins in the 200-yard butterfly (2:16.68), the 100-yard freestyle (57.30) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:04.77).
 
Sophomore BethAnn Schwoyer (Williamsport, Pa./Homeschooled) posted a pair of wins in the backstroke, notching a time of 1:04.96 in the 100-yard event and a time of 2:20.11 in the 200. Freshman Jilly Flynn (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) added two wins in the breaststroke, posting a time of 1:12.58 in the 100 and 2:39.75 in the 200.
 
Sophomore Lexi Follweiler (Coaldale, Pa./Panther Valley) added a win in the 100-yard butterfly, posting a time of 1:04.77. She also took second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:27.81) and the 100-yard freestyle (58.97) behind Loiseau.
 
The Warriors also won the 200-yard medley relay to start the meet, with the team of Schwoyer, Flynn, Loiseau and freshman Felicia Sloyer (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen), winning by more than seven seconds with a time of 1:57.56.
 
Woods led the men’s team, posting wins in the 100-yard backstroke (56.97), the 50-yard freestyle (23.31) and the 100-yard butterfly (53.72).
 
Junior Zack Brower (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) added a pair of wins, posting a time of 1:59.35 to take the 200-yard freestyle and 50.82 to take the 100-yard freestyle. Several others posted event wins, with sophomore T.J. Guminski (Ambler, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) posting a time of 1:06.29 to take the 100-yard breaststroke, freshman Kyle Garase (Finleyville, Pa./Ringgold) notched a time of 2:10.57 to take the 200-yard butterfly, freshman Trevor Endler (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) added a time of 2:23.28 to take the 200-yard breaststroke and freshman Josh Thomas (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) won the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:34.28.
 
Both relay teams also posted wins, with the 200-yard medley team of Woods, Guminski, Thomas and Brower posting a time of 1:43.48, and the 200-yard freestyle team of freshman Dan Apostolu (Springfield, Pa./Springfield), junior Luke Dohrman (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown), Brower and Garase posting a time of 1:37.82.
 
The Warriors get back in the water when they host MAC foe Misericordia on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at Lamade Gym Natatorium.
