Warriors drop finale to Blazers

FREDERICK, Md. – A three-goal outburst by Hood College in the second half helped the Blazers take a 3-0 Commonwealth Conference decision from the Lycoming College men’s soccer team on Saturday, Oct. 27, in the season finale for both teams at the Thomas Athletic Field.
 
The Warriors (4-10-2 overall, 1-7-1 Commonwealth) fired 18 shots in the contest, led by six from senior Matt Snively (Hollywood, Md./Leonardtown), but Hood’s Ryan Deuber made four saves to earn the shutout.
 
The Blazers (4-10-2 overall, 1-8 Commonwealth) countered with 18 shots and Eric Diehl posted two goals and an assist. Ian McDonald also added a goal and an assist, as Hood scored twice in the last 10 minutes.
 
Senior James Quinn (Tonawanda, N.Y./Kenmore East) played the first 72 minutes, making four saves as he finished his career with a 1.45 goals against average (third in school history) and 182 saves (seventh in school history). Sophomore Connor Keenan (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) added two saves in the final 18 minutes.
