Warriors fall to Knights

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s soccer team fell victim to two first-half goals by Arcadia University on Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex, dropping a 2-0 Commonwealth Conference decision.
 
On Senior Day, the Warriors (1-12-3 overall, 0-6-1 Commonwealth) were led by senior Leslie Kester (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township), who took three of the team’s six shots.
 
The Knights (10-4-3 overall, 4-2-1 Commonwealth) got on the board on the third minute with a goal by Anastasia Stratton and added another in the 30th minute on a tally by Rachel Bradd.
 
Lycoming put pressure on in the second half, though, taking four shots on net, but Veronica Willig was able to stop all four to preserve the shutout.
 
Senior Jennifer Basch (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) made three saves in the first half and sophomore Sam Stropko (Sayre, Pa./Athens Area) stopped five in the second for the Warriors.
 
The Warriors get back on the field on Wednesday, Oct. 24, when they head to Elizabethtown for a 4:30 p.m. game.
