Warriors drop close one to Knights

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior James Quinn (Tonawanda, N.Y./Kenmore East) made six saves on Senior Day for the Lycoming College men’s soccer team and Lycoming took eight shots on net, but it couldn’t equalize a first-half Arcadia goal, helping the Knights to a 1-0 Commonwealth Conference win on Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
 
Alex Wells got inside in the 21st minute and fired a shot into the upper right corner to lift the Knights (7-5-2 overall, 4-3 Commonwealth) to the win.
 
The Warriors’ offense was paced by three shots from senior Matt Snively (Hollywood, Md./Leonardtown) and two by sophomore Adam Kuntz (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East), but Ryan Lantzy stopped three shots in net for the Knights to lead to the shutout.
 
The Warriors (4-8-2 overall, 1-5-1 Commonwealth) get back on the field on Wednesday, Oct. 24, when they head to Elizabethtown for a 7 p.m. game.
