WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The freshmen pair of
Brigid Clark (Wyndmoor, Pa./Springfield) and
Danielle Loiseau (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) each notched three individual wins to help lead the Lycoming College women’s swimming team to a sweep of FDU-Florham (75-46) and King’s (Pa.) (89-25) during a Middle Atlantic Conference double dual meet at the Wyoming Valley Catholic Youth Center on Wednesday night, Jan. 18. The Lycoming men’s swim teams also added a pair of wins, besting King’s, 78-42, and FDU-Florham, 92-21.
Loiseau led the Warriors (5-4 overall, 4-3 MAC) by posting a season-best time of 2:16.96 in the 200-yard butterfly for the first of her trio of wins, adding a time of 1:02.31 to win the 100-yard butterfly and a time of 2:21.49 to win the 200-yard individual medley.
Clark posted a time of 2:06.09 to win the 200-yard freestyle, a 26.88 in the 50-yard freestyle and a time of 58.51 in the 100-yard freestyle.
Freshman
BethAnn Schwoyer (Williamsport, Pa./Homeschooled) added a couple of wins in the backstroke, winning the 200-yard event at 2:18.32 and the 100-yard event at 1:03.61, while finishing second in the 200-yard individual medley at 2:28.68.
Junior
Caitlin DeAngelo (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) posted a time of 12:01.27 to win the 1,000-yard freestyle and freshman
Lexi Follweiler (Coaldale, Pa./Panther Valley) added a win in 5:42.03 in the 500-yard freestyle.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Schwoyer, Loiseau, Follweiler and Clark posted a time of 1:59.20 for the win and the team of junior
Elisa Becker (Reston, Va./South Lakes), freshman
Taylor Berry (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East), Follweiler and junior
Lindsey Hunsicker (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) posted a time of 1:40.41 to win the 200-yard freestyle relay.
On the men’s side, senior
Joe Andrie (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley), freshman
Daniel Woods (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) and freshman
T.J. Guminski (Ambler, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) each notched two wins to lead the Warriors to the wins over King’s and FDU-Florham.
The Warriors improved to 5-3 overall and 5-2 in the MAC.
Andrie notched a time of 1:03.44 to win the 100-yard breaststroke and a time of 2:22.82 to win the 200-yard event. Woods posted a time of 59.43 to win the 100-yard backstroke and a time of 55.98 to take the 100-yard butterfly. Guminski notched a time of 2:17.36 to win the 200-yard butterfly and a time of 2:11.22 to win the 200-yard individual medley. He also finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:29.55.
Sophomore
Zack Brower (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) added a time of 50.95 to claim the 100-yard freestyle and sophomore
Jack Port (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cedar Cliff) notched a time of 2:15.32 to win the 200-yard backstroke. Sophomore
C.J. Arhontakis (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) notched a win in the 50-yard freestyle at 24.02.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Guminski, Andrie, Woods and Brower posted a time of 1:44.76 to notch the win and the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Arhontakis, freshman
Sean Marshall (Waverly, N.Y./Athens Area), senior
Derek Lupia (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) and Brower notched a time of 1:33.05 to post the win.
The Warriors wrap up their dual meet schedule on Saturday, Jan. 21, when they head to Arcadia for a Middle Atlantic Conference meet at 2 p.m.
