Loiseau, Andrie lead Warriors on second day at Swarthmore Invitational

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Freshman Danielle Loiseau (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) and senior Joe Andrie (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley) each posted a pair of top-five finishes on Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Swarthmore Invitational to lead the Lycoming College women’s and men’s swim teams, respectively.
 
In the 100-yard butterfly, Loiseau finished fourth with a personal-best 1:01.80 and sophomore Hope Weber (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) also added a ninth-place finish with a 1:05.06. In the 200-yard butterfly, Loiseau posted her third top-10 finish of the week, posting a time of 2:17.02 to take third, as she dropped three seconds off her previous best. Weber also finished ninth in the event with a time of 2:25.27.
 
Andrie took third in the 200-yard breaststroke with a season-best 2:16.19, dropping almost five seconds off his previous best of the year, and he added a fourth-place time in the 100-yard breaststroke with a season-best 1:02.88.
 
Freshman Daniel Woods (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) posted a second-place time in the 100-yard butterfly with a personal-best 54.23.
 
Freshman Brigid Clark (Wyndmoor, Pa./Springfield) took third in the 200-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 2:02.86 and she added ninth-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 56.77.
 
In the 400-yard individual medley, freshman T.J. Guminski (Ambler, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) posted a personal-best 4:34.33, as he knocked 15 seconds off his best time to finish in sixth place and he added a ninth-place finish with a time of 2:21.69.
 
Freshman BethAnn Schwoyer (Williamsport, Pa./Homeschooled) took sixth in the 100-yard backstroke with a season-best 1:03.07 and junior Caitlin DeAngelo (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) added a season-best 1:06.79 to take 14th in the event, as she dropped nearly three seconds off her previous-best. Schwoyer added another sixth-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:15.93, cutting more than two seconds off her previous best. Sophomore Jennie Marosits (Mt. Lakes, N.J./Mt. Lakes) took 10th in the 200-yard backstroke as well, posting a season-best time of 2:20.57 and DeAngelo took 13th with a 2:24.24, as she tied with Weber.
 
Marosits also posted her second top-10 finish of the weekend as she finished the 1,650-yard freestyle in 19:04.31. Sophomore Jack Port (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cedar Cliff) took 12th in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:25.55 and followed that by taking seventh in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 18:44.98. Freshman Aaron Slagle (Waynesburg, Ohio/Sandy Valley) also posted a top-10 finish in the event, posting a time of 19:38.91.
 
Sophomore Zack Brower (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) added two 15th-place finishes as he posted a season-best time of 1:53.66 in the 200-yard freestyle, dropping almost three seconds off his previous best, and a season-best 50.38 in the 100-yard freestyle.
 
Sophomore Jake Pelinsky (Southwick, Mass./Westfield) added a time of 2:22.71 for a season-best in the 200-yard breaststroke as he finished 11th.
 
The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, Dec. 10, when they host perennial Middle Atlantic Conference power Albright at 1 p.m. in a dual meet at the Lamade Gymnasium Natatorium.
