Marosits, Louiseau post top 10 finishes to lead Warriors on first night of Swarthmore Invitational

SWARTHMORE, Pa. –
Sophomore Jennie Marosits (Mt. Lakes, N.J./Mt. Lakes) and freshman Danielle Louseau (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) each posted top 10 finishes on the first night of the Swarthmore Invitational on Friday, Dec. 2, to lead the contingent of Lycoming College swimmers, which posted season-bests nearly across the board to kick off the competitive, two-day, 10-team event.
 
Marosits finished in eighth in the 500-yard freestyle, posting a season-best 5:27.27, besting her previous season-best by 14 seconds. Freshman Brigid Clark (Wyndmoor, Pa./Springfield) also posted a season-best time in the event, dropping 12 seconds en route to a 5:33.73 and a 14th-place finish.
 
Loiseau finished 10th in the 200-yard individual medley with a season-best 2:20.88, dropping 1.10 seconds off her best time and freshman BethAnn Schwoyer (Williamsport, Pa./Homeschooled) added a time of 2:23.31 to take 15th.
 
On the men’s side freshman T.J. Guminski (Ambler, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) posted a time of 5:17.68 to finish 11th in the 500-yard freestyle and sophomore Jack Port (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cedar Cliff) was close behind with a season-best time of 5:18.98 to take 12th. Freshman Aaron Slagle (Waynesburg, Ohio/Sandy Valley) also added a 15th-place finish with a season-best time of 5:25.91, dropping nearly 16 seconds off his previous best.
 
Senior Joe Andrie (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley) took 13th in the 200-yard individual medley with a season-best 2:07.97 and sophomore Peter Fields (Burke, Va./Robinson) added a time of 2:09.87 to take 15th. Freshman Zack Brower (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) finished 12th with a season-best time of 22.65 in the 50-yard freestyle and freshman Daniel Woods (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) added a time of 22.79 to take 16th.
 
The Warriors wrap up the Swarthmore Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 3, starting at 9:30 a.m.
