GLENSIDE, Pa. –
Sophomore Molly Russell (Myersville, Md./Middletown) scored her first career goal late in the first half for the Lycoming College women’s soccer team, but a goal and an assist from Sara Volk-Perez were enough to lead Arcadia University to a 2-1 win in Commonwealth Conference women’s soccer action on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 15.

Volk-Perez scored in the 41st minute to give the Knights (9-3-1 overall, 2-1 Commonwealth) a 1-0 lead, but Russell answered back, getting a dish from sophomore Briana Riddick (Slatington, Pa./Northern Lehigh) just three minutes later and finding the short side of the goal to tie the match for the Warriors (2-11 overall, 0-4 Commonwealth).

However, the Knights answered back in the ninth minute of the second half as Samantha Davis scored on a give from Volk-Perez.

Sophomore keeper Caitlin Dougherty (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) made five saves in net for the Warriors and Jackie Law stopped three shots for the Knights.

The Warriors get back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 18, when they face Elizabethtown in Commonwealth Conference action at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.
