Keenan’s nine saves help Warriors draw with Arcadia

GLENSIDE, Pa. –
Freshman goalkeeper Connor Keenan (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) made nine saves to help the Lycoming College men’s soccer team play to a 1-1 draw with Commonwealth Conference foe Arcadia on Saturday, Oct. 15.
 
Keenan stopped a career-high nine stops, including two in overtime, to help keep the Warriors (7-6-2 overall, 1-2-1 Commonwealth) in the match, as the Knights (7-6-1 overall, 2-1-1 Commonwealth) managed 24 shots in the match.
 
The Warriors got out to an early lead, as junior Charlie Vess (Lexington Park, Md./Great Mills) found the back of the net in the 27th minute on a  floater over the goalkeeper for his team-high sixth goal of the season. Junior Matt Snively (Hollywood, Md./Leonardtown) assisted on the play.
 
With just 1:29 left before halftime, though, Tim O’Leary got the equalizer with a shot to the far side of the net and neither team could dent the twine in the final three periods.
 
Ryan Lantzy made one save in net for the Knights.
 
The Warriors get back in action on Wednesay, Oct. 19, when they face Elizabethtown in Commonwealth Conference action at the Shangraw Athletic Complex. The game can be heard live online at www.espnwilliamsport.com, with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m.
