WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Brittany Kanickij struck twice in the first 11 minutes and that was all FDU-Florham needed on Friday afternoon, Sept. 24, spoiling a sterling 10-save effort in the net from freshman Caitlin Dougherty (Douglasville, Pa./Daniel Boone), as the Devils snapped a five-match winning streak for the Lycoming College women’s soccer team, 2-0, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.

Kanickij got a give from Fink near midfield and charged in on a breakaway for the first goal before knocking in a rebound of her own shot for the second goal just 11 minutes into the match.

From there, Dougherty was superb, stopping eight more shots in the first half and two more in the second, including making four diving stops.

Melanie Pierson made two saves in the shutout for the Devils (5-3-1 overall).

Lycoming will look to get back in the win column on Wednesday when it travels to Wilkes-Barre, Pa., to face King’s in a non-conference match at 7 p.m.
