DALLAS, Pa. – With a late-match run, the Lycoming College volleyball team overcame a 2-0 deficit on Monday night, Oct. 25, in non-conference action to defeat Misericordia University in dramatic fashion, 3-2 (15-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23, 16-14).
Senior Megan Schulze (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley) led the Warriors (13-14 overall) by posting eight kills, seven blocks and an ace. Freshman Lacey Sollenberger (New Enterprize, Pa./North Bedford) added 10 kills and two blocks and freshman Tanya DeWalt (Mainesburg, Pa./Mansfield) added seven kills and four blocks.
Freshman Katelyn McKillop (Mount Pocono, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) added 40 assists and junior Emily Abel (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) led the team with 17 digs.
The Warriors get back on the court on Wednesday when they wrap up the Commonwealth Conference season with a 7 p.m. match against Messiah at Lamade Gymnasium. The Warriors will honor its group of three seniors, Kelly Rose (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Bishop Hoban), Schulze and McKenna Warren (Elmira, N.Y./CMS Elmira) in a ceremony before the match.
