ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Freshman Nial Krach (Forest Hill, Md./Calvert Hill College) and sophomore James Quinn (Tonawanda, N.Y./Kenmore East) combined to make seven saves, but Elizabethtown was able to take a 3-0 decision from the Lycoming College men’s soccer team on Saturday night, Oct. 23, in Commonwealth Conference action.
The Blue Jays (11-1-2 overall, 6-0 Commonwealth), ranked fifth in the Mid-Atlantic Region, got on the board in the 21st minute as Taylor Heisel scored. Javeim Blanchette added the other two goals, with one coming in the 39th minute and one in the 65th.
The Blue Jays took 17 shots, as Krach made two saves in 41 minutes before Quinn made five stops in the final 49 minutes. Eric Carr made five stops in the shutout for the Blue Jays, as the Warriors (6-10-1 overall, 0-5-1 Commonwealth) put all five of its shots on goal. Sophomore Matt Snively (Leonardtown, Md./Hollywood) led the team with two shots.
The Warriors play one more non-conference game at Wilkes on Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. before wrapping up the season on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Commonwealth Conference foe Albright.
