LA PLUME, Pa. --- Sophomore Randon Wilston and freshman Jimmy Deasel each tallied a goal and an assist in Lycoming College’s 4-1 victory over Keystone College on Wednesday, Sept. 16. Wilston and Deasel each assisted the others goal as all four of Lycoming’s goals were assisted on the afternoon.
Lycoming boosts its overall record to 5-1, including three straight while Keystone falls to 1-5 on the season.
Wilston (Mainesburg, Pa./Mansfield) scored early in the match, connecting on Deasel’s pass just 5:47 into the game. Senior forward Chris Lorenzet (Forest Hills, Md./C. Milton Wright) put Lycoming up 2-0 at the 23:46 mark, with Scott Hordis (Ivyland, Pa./Archbishop Wood) credited on the assist. Lycoming took the advantage into the locker room for half time.
Keystone opened the second half with a goal at 57:16, cutting the Warrior lead in half 2-1. Deasel (Kingsville, Md./Loyola-Blakefield) gave Lycoming the insurance goal and a 3-1 lead at 65:03, giving Wilston his assist. Senior Zach Frederick (West Chester, Pa./St. Marks) scored the final tally of the day at 72:20 on a pass from fellow senior Mike Coates (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional).
Senior goalkeeper David Bald (Edgewater, Md./South River) made three stops on the day, seeing only five shots on goal from the Giants. Lycoming held a 16-11 advantage in total shots and 5-3 in corner kicks. Lycoming played a clean game, called for just six fouls to Keystone’s 18, including one yellow card.
Lycoming opens a three game home stand on Saturday, Sept. 19 against Waynesburg College. The game will begin at 4 p.m. at the Robert L. Shangraw Athletic Complex.
