Lorenzet scored the lone goal of the game as Lycoming College men’s soccer team defeated host Lancaster Bible 1-0 on Thursday, Oct. 8.
The win improves Lycoming to 10-3 on the season, while Lancaster Bible falls to 9-6.
Lorenzet (Forest Hills, Md./C. Milton Wright) broke the tie in the 78th minute of the match on a set piece from just outside the Charger penalty box following a Lancaster Bible foul. Lorenzet drilled the shot past the Charger goalie near the left post. Lorenzet finished the day with five shots, placing four of them on goal.
Freshman Jimmy Deasel (Kingsville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) put two shots on goal, helping the Warriors to a 16-6 advantage in shots, placing nine on goal. Lycoming also held a 9-6 advantage in corner kicks.
Senior goalkeeper David Bald (Edgewater, Md./South River) saw four Charger shots on goal and stopped all of them to preserve the shutout.
Lycoming is on the road again for its next game when the Warriors travel to conference opponent Arcadia University for a 3 p.m. start time on Saturday, Oct. 10.
