Volleyball falls in road Commonwealth match 3-0 to Leb Val

ANNVILLE, Pa
. --- The Lycoming College volleyball team fell 3-0 on the road to Lebanon Valley on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The loss was the second in the Commonwealth Conference and snapped a three game winning streak for Lycoming.

The Lady Warriors slip to 9-11 on the season and 2-2 in the Commonwealth while the Dutchmen improve to 19-1 overall and 3-1 in the league.

On offense junior Kelly Rose (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Bishop Hoban) led Lycoming with six kills on 21 attempts. Senior setter Abby Myers (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) handed out 20 assists and one service ace. At the service line, Melynda McGinnis (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) had two aces.

Defensively, sophomore Emily Abel (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) continued her excellent play, adding 17 digs and three kills to the team totals. At the net, Megan Schulze (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley) had three assisted blocks.

Lycoming will be on the road this weekend when it heads to Bethlehem, Pa. for the Moravian Tournament. The first match will be against the host school at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 10.
