ANNVILLE, Pa. --- Despite 11 saves by senior goalkeeper David Bald, the Lycoming College men’s soccer team fell in overtime 3-2 to host Lebanon Valley College on Saturday, Oct. 31 in the Warriors final game of the 2009 season.
Lycoming wraps the year with an 11-7-1 overall record and a 1-5-1 mark in the Commonwealth Conference. Lebanon Valley is now 10-6-2 on the season and 4-3 in the league.
Senior midfielder Zach Frederick (West Chester, Pa./St. Marks) scored the first goal of the game in the 32nd minute on a loose ball following a free kick. Sophomore Randon Wilston (Mainesburg, Pa./Mansfield) gave the Warriors a 2-0 lead five minutes later in the 37th minute.
Lebanon Valley got to within a goal in the 39th minute of the match following a collision with Bald in the Lycoming net. The Warriors took a 2-1 lead in to the halftime break.
The Dutchmen scored the equalizer in the 78th minute of the game, following a long centering pass from Justin Hutchinson to Chris Hall. Eric Woods scored the game winner in the 100th minute of the match.
Senior forward Chris Lorenzet (Forest Hills, Md./C. Milton Wright finished the day with two shots on goal while Bald (Edgewater, Md./South River) made 11 stops against 21 shots faced.
