WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.
--- The Lycoming College men’s soccer team played arguably its best game of the season against No. 3 Messiah College, but fell 4-0 on Wednesday, Oct. 21. The Warriors trailed just 1-0 going into half time.

Lycoming is now 10-6 on the season and 0-4-1 in the Commonwealth Conference while Messiah improves to 13-1 overall and 3-0 in the conference.

Messiah got on the scoreboard early in the match, finding the goal in the fifth minute. But the Warrior defense played strong and helped transition the ball to offense to create some opportunities in the Messiah half of the field. Both teams played through the first 45 minutes tied in shots at three.

The Falcons scored three times in the second half to finalize the score 4-0. Lycoming got its best opportunity of the second half at 83:20 when Pat Marion (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico) took a shot that beat the Messiah goalkeeper, but hit the left post.

Senior keeper David Bald (Edgewater, Md./South River) made five saves in the game while Chris Lorenzet (Forest Hill, Md./C. Milton Wright) took two shots.

The Warriors will play in their final home game of the 2009 season on Saturday, Oct. 24 when they host Albright College. Match time is set for noon.
