WILKES-BARRE, Pa. -- The Lycoming College men's and women's swim teams defeated both King's College and FDU-Florham in a tri-meet on Wednesday, Jan. 14.
The Men's team defeated King's 81-36 and FDU-Florham 81-23 while the Lady Warriors earned a 73-47 win against King's and defeated FDU-Florham 74-46.
The women's team opened the meet with a victory in the 200-yard meldey relay, with Stephanie Conrad, Stacy Flick, Amy Bentz and Caroline LeHota combining to post a time of 2:01.47.
Claire Zido took to the pool next, claiming the top spot in the 1,000-yard freestlye with a time of 11:34.73. Next up was Meg Emery, winning the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:07.57. Nichole Zoller followed that with a first-place showing in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:06.26.
Flick returned to win the 100-yard breastroke with a time of 1:09.83 and LeHota claimed the top spot in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.43 seconds. Bentz picked up her second win in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 59.85 seconds.
Milvana Ban claimed the top spot in the 200-yard backstroke with a season-best time of 2:20.06.
Flick claimed her third top honor with a win in the 200-yard breaststroke in a season-best time of 2:33.09. Emery claimed her second win with a time of 5:38.22 in the 500-yard freestyle.
The Lady Warriors exhibitioned the events following the 500-yard freestyle, including the final relay of the meet.
The men's team opened the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Mark Fries, Joe Andrie, Brian Fausel and Chad Lemmons finished in a time of 1:49.62.
John Dougherty picked up the first individual win, claiming the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:54.48. Fries was back in the pool for the 100-yard backstroke, winning in a time of 1:00.10. Andrie picked up his second win with a time of 1:05.58 in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Fausel also earned an individual first-place, topping the field in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:07.73. Brandon Good added to the winners-list with a time of 24.28 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle.
Fries picked up his second individual win, claiming the 100-yard freestyle in 52.01 seconds.
Trevor Silbernagel got in on the winning with the top performance in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing in 2:19.58.
Andrie picked up his second individual win, posting a time of 2:20.75 in the 200-yard breaststroke. Dougherty also claimed his second win, finishing the 500-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 5:17.47.
The men's team exhibitioned all events after the 500-yard freestlye, including the final relay.
Both the Lycoming men's and women's teams will travel to Lebanon Valley on Saturday, Jan. 17, for a 1 p.m. meet.
