HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Bekah Shipe added to her career scoring record and Chelsea Powers registered eight saves, but it was not enough as the Lady Warriors suffered a 3-1 loss at Juniata on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
Juniata (5-0) opened the scoring in the fifth minute when Caitlin Bigelow converted on an assist from Laura Goodlander. Bigelow would add her second goal of the game in the 16th minute to put Juniata up 2-0.
Shipe (Northumberland, Pa.) put the Lady Warriors (0-3-2) on the board in the 17th minute off an assist from Kati Shaner (Hughesville, Pa.). The goal added to her career scoring records, which now stand at 28 goals and 69 points.
Juniata added an insurance goal in the 67th minute to seal the victory.
Powers (Dover, Pa.) took the loss after allowing three goals and registering eight saves.
Juniata held advantages in shots (16-7), shots on goal (11-2) and corner kicks (5-4).
Lycoming will travel to Penn State-Berks on Thursday, Sept. 18, for a 4 p.m. match.
