Women’s soccer drops first conference game

Sammi Jo BellELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s soccer team lost its first Commonwealth Conference game of the season with a 5-0 defeat against Elizabethtown on Wednesday, Oct. 15.

The Lady Warriors (4-5-3, 1-1-1 Commonwealth) managed just two shots on goal, both coming in the second half. Bekah Shipe (Northumberland, Pa.) and Kaitlin Horn (Ringtown, Pa.) registered the two Lycoming shots.

Elizabethtown (9-3-2, 1-0-1) held advantages of 18-5 in shots, 12-2 in shots on goal and 8-1 in corner kicks. The Blue Jays scored three goals in the first half and added two in the second.

Brie Pepe (Lafayette, N.J.) registered seven saves in goal.

Lycoming will travel to Messiah for a conference match this Saturday, Oct. 18. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
