WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College men’s soccer team used 29 players in a 6-0 victory against Baptist Bible College on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.

The Warriors (6-3-1) dominated the game, outshooting the Defenders (2-8-0) 23-4 and holding a 10-0 advantage in shots on goal.

Tom McVey (Jamison, Pa.) put Lycoming on the board in the 11th minute with his first goal of the season and the flood gates opened from there.

In the 19th minute, Chris Burgess (Bel Air, Md.) added an unassisted breakaway goal. Burgess then assisted Joe Pusateri (Rockville, Md.) in the 31st minute and scored his second goal of the game in the 33rd minute of an assist from Kyle Welsh (North Wales, Pa.).

Pusateri finished the scoring in the first half with his second goal of the game in the 35th minute off an assist from Zach Frederick (West Chester, Pa.), putting the Warriors up 5-0 at halftime.

Anton DeCesare (Ellicott City, Md.) scored the lone goal of the second half off an assist from Dustin Schulman (Hampstead, Md.) in the 90th minute. The goal was the first of the sophomore’s career.

Three goalkeepers were used for Lycoming, including starter David Bald (Annapolis, Md.), Brian Marshall (Athen, Pa.) and Aleks Alunans (Baltimore, Md.), who played in his first collegiate game.

The Warriors held a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks and were charged with 13 fouls to Baptist Bible’s eight.

Lycoming stays home this Saturday, Oct. 4, to open the Commonwealth Conference schedule against Arcadia. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will be followed by the women’s game at 3:30 p.m.
