WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. --- Senior women’s cross country runner Kari Smith has been named the Lycoming College Warrior of the Week for Oct. 26

Smith (Corning, N.Y./Corning Painted Post) took ninth place in a field of 90 runners at the East Stroudsburg University Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 24. She crossed the finish line of the 5,000 kilometer event in 20:45, a personal record for her at that distance.

The Warriors will conclude their 2009 season at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship meet on Saturday, Oct. 31 in Center Valley, Pa. The event, hosted by DeSales University, will begin at 11 a.m.

Lycoming’s sports information office will announce a Warrior of the Week through the 2009-10 academic year. The athletes will be featured on the homepage of the athletics Web site at athletics.lycoming.edu
