Four Warriors in double digits in 73-30 win

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—Four Warriors scored in double-digits to lead the Lycoming College women's basketball team to a 73-30 non-conference victory over Penn State Berks on Monday, Dec. 1 at Lamade Gym.

Lycoming (3-3, 1-1) held Berks (1-8) to just a 20.5 percent clip from the field, forced 31 turnovers, and outrebounded Berks, 39-23.

The Warriors shut out the Nittany Lions, 20-0, in the opening quarter, allowing no points in the first 10:35 of the contest. The Warriors stretched the lead gradually to 36-10 at the half.

In the second half, Lycoming's offense began to click more, as the Warriors shot 52 percent (13-for-25) after halftime, including sinking a trio of three-point attempts in the third quarter, as the Warriors shot 47.1 percent (24-for-51) for the night, while also going 20-for-24 (83.3 percent) from the free-throw line.

Lycoming grew their lead to 41 points late in the third quarter and stayed around that margin for the final 10 minutes, outscoring Berks, 37-20, in the second half en route to the 43-point margin.

In a balanced effort, the Warriors were led by senior Allison Fisher (Pinehurst, N.C. / Burrell) and junior Alyssa Reisinger (Mount Carmel Area / Kulpmont, Pa.), who each scored 13 points. Fisher was 3-for-4 behind the arc, while Reisinger scored in double figures for the first time this season while matching a season best with six rebounds.

Junior Ann-Marie McMurtrie (Centre Hall, Pa. / Penns Valley) reached double figures for the first time in her career with 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting, as well as a team-high seven rebounds. First year Ciara O'Hara (Phoenixville, Pa. / Kimberton Waldorf) also scored a career-best 11 points, while swiping four steals and going 5-for-6 from the free-throw line.

Penn State Berks was led by Hailey Miller with seven points and six rebounds.

The Warriors will return to action Wednesday, Dec. 3, when they hit the road for a Landmark Conference matchup against Goucher College. Tipoff from Baltimore, Md. is scheduled for 7 p.m.
