Joe Santomarco (Manalapan, N.J./Manalapan) secured a pin at 149 pounds, starting a run of 12 straight points to lead the Lycoming College wrestling team to a 25-14 win at the University of Scranton on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 3.
The Warriors (13-4 overall) benefitted from a forfeit at 133 before Santomarco pinned Jared Keenam in 1:37 at 149 to give Lycoming a 12-6 lead. Junior
Trevor Corl (Howard, Pa./Bellefonte Area) added an 11-5 win over Kyle Shaffer at 157 thanks to six first-period points and junior
Hadyn Swartwood (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) used 10 first-period points in a 13-8 win over Kevin Merle at 165 to give Lycoming an 18-6 lead.
Senior
Bradley Miccio (Bloomsburg, Pa./Benton Area) helped clinch the win thanks to getting near-fall points in the first period to go with three takedowns in an 11-1 win over Justin Weimer at 184 pounds. Fifth-ranked senior
Garrett Wesneski (Canton, Pa./Canton Area) rounded out the win with a 5-1 decision against Keegan Connelly at heavyweight.
Scranton (7-7 overall), which won four of the bouts, had three wins by decision, including one at 197, where d3wrestle.com honorable mention pick Daniel D'Agostini edged out junior
